PlanaTracker
A free VRM avatar tracker made for VTubers on Linux.
PlanaTracker loads your VRM avatar, tracks it live from your phone, and shows it in a clean window that you capture straight into OBS. It runs natively on Linux, with no Wine or Proton, and it keeps the settings window separate from the avatar window, so nothing but your avatar ends up on stream.
The control window in the dark (Plana) theme. A light (Arona) theme is included too.
What it does
- VRM 0.x and 1.0 avatars, loaded straight from your files, including expressions and spring bones (hair and clothes physics).
- Phone face tracking with iFacialMocap (iPhone), VTube Studio (iPhone or Android) or MeowFace (Android): head, body lean, blinking, eyes and 52 ARKit face shapes.
- Lip sync from your face with captured A/I/U/E/O mouth shapes, so the mouth matches what you say.
- Calibration and tuning: capture your neutral pose, then adjust smoothing, strength, mirroring and per-expression mapping.
- Made for OBS: a separate avatar window with a transparent, green-screen or solid background, plus camera presets you can recall at any time.
- Lighting and graphics: main, fill and ambient lights, soft shadows, anti-aliasing and an FPS limit.
- Profiles per avatar, saved automatically. Your last avatar opens again on the next start.
Free to use, with no watermark and no limits on avatars or profiles.
Requirements
- Linux on x86_64. Developed and tested on Arch Linux with Hyprland. No Windows or macOS version.
- A phone tracking app: iFacialMocap or VTube Studio on an iPhone with Face ID, or VTube Studio or MeowFace on Android. The phone and the PC must be on the same network.
- A VRM avatar, for example one made in VRoid Studio.
PlanaTracker is new (version 0.1). It works well on my own setup, but other distros, GPUs and phones have seen little testing so far. Please report what breaks!
Questions
- Does it cost anything?

- No. There is no activation, and nothing is sent anywhere. It only talks to your phone and OBS on your own network.
- Where do I report bugs?
- On the issue tracker on GitHub. Include your distro, desktop (Wayland or X11) and GPU.
